Trade & Distribution — Svivlo

Every reel you've stocked
promised to fix backlash.
This one did.

You've stocked reels that claimed to solve backlash before. Your customers bought them, adjusted them, returned them, or switched to spinning. Svivlo is different in one specific way — and that difference is why we're here. This page is for retailers and distributors considering carrying Svivlo. It answers the questions worth asking before you commit shelf space.

The problem you know well

Every year. New model. Same reviews.

Fastest. Strongest. Lightest. Smartest. The baitcasting category runs on superlatives. And every year, the same reviews appear — five stars for the finish, three stars for the backlash. The same customers ask the same questions. The same returns happen for the same reasons.

That's not a product quality problem. It's a physics problem. Every reel on the market uses a braking system that reacts to spool speed — which means it reacts after overrun has already begun. The word "virtually" in product literature exists for a reason.

An upgrade that doesn't fix the problem is just a more expensive problem. Your customers know this. Some of them stopped buying baitcasters entirely.

A different physical mechanism. Patented.
Requires tuning per lure, per wind condition
Set once. Adapts automatically. Nothing to retune.
Returns from customers blaming the reel
250 sessions. Zero overruns. Independent source.
Why it's actually different

Not a better brake. A different mechanism entirely.

Every spool-speed braking system — magnetic, centrifugal, digital, auto-adjust — works the same way: it detects how fast the spool is spinning and applies resistance accordingly. The flaw is structural. By the time the system detects overrun, overrun has already started.

CastGuard™ detects lure deceleration during the cast — the Euler force event — and responds before the spool can overrun. It isn't a faster version of the same system. It's a fundamentally different intervention point. That's why it's protected by international patent, and why no competitor can replicate it by iterating their existing design.

Traditional braking is like hitting the brakes after you've already started to skid. CastGuard™ detects the ice before the skid begins.

What "set once" actually means
Set once. At the factory.
Then never again.
The reel leaves our factory correctly configured. Your customer doesn't set it up — they take it out of the box and fish.
Not set per lure
Change from a 10g to a 40g bait. Nothing to adjust. CastGuard responds to whatever pull is available.
Not set per cast
No thumb timing at splashdown. No mid-cast brake adjustment. The reel manages spool behavior throughout the cast.
Not set per session
Wind picks up. Conditions change. Fatigue sets in. The reel behaves the same at cast 200 as it did at cast one.
There is one initial spool tension check — removing lateral play from the spool axle. This is done at the factory. Most anglers never touch it.
Independent validation

Recognised by the industry. Confirmed in the field.

Draken ONE · Spinning & Baitcasting category
Sports Illustrated — August 2025
"I loaded the rod and let fly with a good long cast. Before the lure could hit the water, I moved my hand completely away from the reel. As the lure touched down, the spool quickly, but gently, stopped spinning. No backlash at all. Zero. Exactly as promised."

Blinker.de — September 2025
"I gave the reel to complete beginners and tried every way I could think of to produce a backlash. We couldn't do it."
— Nils Anderson, Blinker.de September 2025
This Svivlo baitcast reel won't backlash. We tried!
In-Fisherman publisher Todd Ceisner puts Svivlo through its paces — a Swedish brand that just may have figured out how to eliminate backlashes altogether.

250
Fishing sessions · One season
Wictor Edwardsson — experienced pike angler, regularly landing fish over 10kg — fished Genesis ONE across 250 sessions last season. Zero overruns. Zero lures lost to bird's nests. He typically loses up to 15 lures per season with traditional baitcasters. His conclusion: "Genesis ONE makes me 100% effective on the water."
ICAST 2025 — Genesis ONE stress test
Bienville Outdoors ran hundreds of people through a fishing simulator at ICAST 2025 — catching simulated fish up to 50 lbs — and expected the Genesis ONE to fail under sustained load. It didn't. Not once. The test was designed to break the reel. The reel had other plans.

The range

Two reels. Clear market positioning. No overlap.

Svivlo makes two reels, each targeting a distinct fishing style. Both carry CastGuard™. Both are manufactured in Sweden. Both won awards in their first year of market availability.

Svivlo Draken ONE
Draken ONE Tempo- & rhythm-dominant fishing

Built for high-cadence fishing — frequent casts, varying lure sizes, bass and lighter pike applications. Anglers who cast often and need to stay in rhythm without managing the reel between casts.

Winner — Baitcasting Reel, Angling International LIVE 2024. Reviewed in Sports Illustrated, August 2025.

Lure range: ~¼ oz – 1½ oz · Gear ratio: 7.3:1 · Manufactured in Sweden

Svivlo Genesis ONE
Genesis ONE Load- & power-dominant fishing

Built for heavier applications — pike, predator fishing, larger lures. Where traditional baitcasters backlash most severely is under high-load casts. Genesis ONE handles this without adjustment.

Reviewed in Blinker.de, September 2025. Carbon-reinforced frame. Max drag 12 kg / 27 lbs.

Lure range: ~¾ oz – 7 oz · Gear ratio: 6.3:1 / 8.1:1 · Manufactured in Sweden

Questions before you commit

What retailers ask us first.

  • What's the return rate?
We don't have one for backlash. That's the point. The most common reason customers return baitcasters — the reel backlashed — doesn't apply. Field testing across hundreds of sessions with no overruns is the basis for that confidence, not marketing copy.
  • Where are the reels manufactured?
Svivlo reels are manufactured in Svedala, Sweden — near Malmö. Spare parts are stocked in Sweden. After-sales support is based in Sweden. This is reflected in the price point and the product performance.
  • How do you protect retailers from being undercut?
We publish a Recommended Retail Price for all markets and share it with all authorised retailers. We select our retail partners carefully and do not supply accounts that systematically undercut the market. We do not sell direct-to-consumer through any channel that competes with our authorised retail network. The RRP exists to keep the category healthy, not just to protect us.
  • What is the minimum order quantity?
Discussed directly — it depends on market, territory and product mix. We don't publish a fixed MOQ because we'd rather have the right conversation than the wrong transaction. Contact us at trade@svivlo.com and we'll respond within one business day.
  • What marketing support is available?
Trade partners receive access to product photography, spec sheets, and editorial assets from published reviews including Sports Illustrated, In-Fisherman, and Blinker.de. We invest in category-level visibility that benefits stockists — full-page advertising in Angling International, ICAST presence, and active social across six channels in three languages.
  • What about warranty and after-sales?
Svivlo reels carry a standard manufacturer's warranty, per our general terms. Retailers handle first-level support. Svivlo backs you with spare parts, technical assistance, and reel replacement when needed — all stocked and managed from Sweden. You're never left without a route to resolution.
  • What about digital brake reels? Aren't they already solving this?
Digital brakes are the best version of the existing approach — faster, more precise spool-speed detection than magnetic or centrifugal systems. They're genuinely good reels. But the underlying mechanism is the same: detect how fast the spool is spinning, then apply resistance. The limitation is structural. By the time any speed-based system responds, overrun has already started.

CastGuard™ doesn't detect spool speed. It detects lure deceleration — the moment pull fades during the cast — and responds before the spool can overrun. That's a different intervention point entirely, which is why it's protected by international patent. A digital brake cannot replicate this by iterating its software.

The practical result: digital brake reels still require setup adjustment per lure weight and condition. Svivlo reels don't — your customer takes it out of the box and fishes. That difference becomes clear on session two, not just session one.
  • How do I know CastGuard actually works as claimed?
Three independent sources: Sports Illustrated (zero backlashes across two full days including wind), Blinker.de (couldn't produce a backlash after deliberate attempts), and In-Fisherman (video review, publisher tested personally). The mechanism is protected by international patent — it can be verified, not just claimed. See how CastGuard works →
  • What price point does Svivlo sit at?
Premium. Svivlo sits alongside — not below — established premium baitcasting brands. The technology, Swedish manufacturing origin, and independent validation support that positioning. Customers who have been frustrated by every other reel they've owned are the primary audience. That customer tends to spend more and return less.
