Monofilament backing — 0.4 mm mono for 150 m of braid
| Braid diameter (mm) | Mono backing — meters | Mono backing — yards |
|---|---|---|
| 0.14 | 105 m | 115 yards |
| 0.20 | 85 m | 95 yards |
| 0.205 | 85 m | 90 yards |
| 0.27 | 55 m | 60 yards |
| 0.32 | 25 m | 30 yards |
| 0.36 | ~2 m (effectively 0) | ~2 yards (effectively 0) |
| 0.40 | N/A — reduce to ~124 m of braid | N/A |
Material difference: Braided line is typically more compact than monofilament due to its weave. Monofilament may pack less densely, especially if it has memory or stiffness — this can reduce effective capacity by 10–20%.
Safety margin: Leave a small gap (1–2 mm from the flange) to prevent overfilling and tangles.
All numbers are approximate and should not be treated as exact measurements.
CastGuard™ components tested to a minimum of 50,000 casts under heavy use conditions.
Wictor Edwardsson fished Genesis ONE across a full season. Zero overruns. Zero lures lost.
Carbon-fiber-reinforced with maintained wall thickness. Rigidity under load — not minimum weight on a spec sheet.
Genesis ONE
Size 300 · Load-dominant fishing
Built for load
The rod stays loaded.
The reel stays out of the way.
Genesis ONE is a size 300 baitcasting reel built for power fishing and heavier loads. It handles a wide range of lure weights and changing conditions without brake adjustment, spool tension changes, or thumb management at splashdown.
Built for predator fishing — pike, musky, larger bass — where the rod stays loaded on the cast and in the fight. When you lean into a heavier bait, it doesn't become sensitive. When a fish surges at close range, the reel stays composed. You're not managing it under pressure.
CastGuard™
A different input.
A different result.
Every other baitcasting brake system measures spool speed — which means two requirements never go away: spool tension per lure, and thumb at splashdown. The spool has no connection to the lure. It cannot know when the lure has landed.
CastGuard™ responds to lure pull instead. While the lure pulls line, the spool runs free. When pull fades — at splashdown, in wind, with any lure weight — the spool stabilises. No mode to select before the cast. No adjustment when conditions change.

Carbon Fibre Drag
12 kg / 27 lbs · Multi-disc
Drag system
12 kg / 27 lbs.
Consistent under load.
Multi-disc carbon fiber drag. Carbon fiber plates run cooler under sustained load, maintain consistent pressure through long fights, and require less maintenance than traditional drag materials over the life of the reel.
When a fish surges at close range or makes a hard run at depth, drag pressure holds without heat-related fade. The system behaves the same on the tenth hard pull as it did on the first.
Drive Gear
Hamai cut · Brass main · Bronze pinion
Gear system
Hamai cut brass.
Precision under load.
The main gear is Hamai cut brass — a cold-forging process that produces tighter tolerances and a harder surface than conventional cut gears. The result is a gear that holds its mesh under hard pulls and doesn't develop slop over time.
The pinion gear is Hamai cut bronze — a harder alloy that wears against the brass main gear without galling. Both materials are chosen for longevity under sustained load, not weight savings on a spec sheet.
Frame
CF40 carbon fibre.
Built for rigidity, not the spec sheet.
CF40 carbon-fiber-reinforced frame with maintained wall thickness. A deliberate choice for rigidity under load rather than minimum weight on a spec sheet. Gear alignment holds under repeated hard pulls across long sessions.
Corrosion resistant. Built for freshwater and light saltwater. Final assembly and quality control in Svedala, Sweden. Spare parts and after-sales support based in Sweden — a direct route to resolution, not a distant support chain.
